Introduction of the portal
Developer Engine is a Merchant Solutions API Developer Portal that offers APIs for partners and merchants to process payment transactions, board merchants & submerchants, fight fraud, and offer capital to clients. The portal has a registration process, interactive documentation with a 3-pane API Spec viewer, the ability for users to get API keys through self-service, and offers analytics through an integration with Apigee.
Why nominated
The Developer Engine leverages a UI/UX that provides semi-technical POs and decision makers high-level information about products while focusing on our main user persona: the developer. The portal also renders API Specifications in an interactive 3-pane viewer. For example: https://developerengine.fisglobal.com/apis/launchpad/merchant-boarding/api-specification
Users can register and get API Keys through self-service, use them in the interactive spec viewer, send and receive sample requests and responses, and reach out to our sales team digitally, without any human touch.
Once users send and receive requests and responses with their API keys, they can view analytics (provided via an integration with Apigee) about their API calls in their dashboard.
