About the Developer Portal

The Tildagon Badge Documentation provides information for an electronic hexagonal badge developed for an event called Electromagnetic Field. The badge can be developed for and expanded with so called "hexpansions". The documentation for the badge was a community effort.

Why They Stand Out

The Tildagon Badge Documentation takes a community-centric approach, highlighting the community's contributions and inviting collaboration while providing the information for the community to build cool things.

The onboarding experience guides readers to the right place: folks looking to use their badge, get information for assembly and usage, app developers can get started with a hello world app which they can install on a badge or on a simulator, and hardware developers and tinkerers can create expansions for the hexagonal badge (hexpansions). Along the way readers will come across what other community members have built and may even find "Badge challenges" which are issues within the documentation that require help from community members and are invitations for collaboration.

For developers, the API reference documentation makes it easy to get started, providing overviews of APIs alongside instructions for usage and usage examples. Additional long-form tutorials in the Examples section, allow readers to put everything into perspective and get started while learning how everything fits together.
