Questions to ask:
- What strategies are employed to attract and convert new users?
- Do you use artificial intelligence to improve documentation processes and/or external user experience on the developer portal?
- Have you any outstanding end user solutions using (retrieval-augmented) LLMs on your developer portal? Can you share specific use cases or projects where these solutions have significantly impacted your work?
- Is your technical documentation optimized for LLMs? Are your entire API docs are also machine-readable? What standards and protocols do you implement to maintain high API usability and performance?
- How do you help your users correctly guage the level of confidence they should have towards the AI powered processes you provide on the developer portal?
- Is your portal enabling agentic access in production?
- How do you guarantee the security and privacy of your and your users’ data?
We need supporting information for the jury! To allow the jurors–who are not necessarily experts in your industry vertical–to reasonably understand your behind-the-screen processes and challenges resolved, we ask that you give them a short explanation on this, preferably a demo, as well as the short history, operational context and corporate purpose of the portal. You will have a much better chance at winning the award by explicitly guiding the jury towards the bright spots you already have, and explain any domain-specific challenges to understand the awesomeness of the AI-augmentation you implemented.
